Around 300 Year 3 to Year 6 primary school pupils, representing 16 schools from across the North Cotswolds, visited the College to take part in qualifying races for the North Cotswold Primary School District Cross Country Championships.
The course at the College is relatively flat and approximately 1500 metres long. The conditions were cold but the sun was shining. The top twenty runners in each of the boys and girls races qualify to run for the North Cotswold District at the Cheltenham District Championships. These are taking place at St Edward’s Preparatory School in Cheltenham on 8 March. Each race here has around 200 runners.
From here, the top 12 runners in the races qualify to compete for the Cheltenham Area team in the Gloucestershire Primary Schools County Championships at Newent in March. There is always strong competition in this event from other area teams, with the top individuals and teams winning medals.
